SEO Audit
Understanding Your Results
How to read your audit results, prioritise fixes, and track improvement over time.
Reading the results dashboard
After an audit completes, your project dashboard shows three layers of data:
1. The health score
A single number from 0–100 representing your overall technical SEO health. Use this as a trend line — the absolute number matters less than whether it's moving in the right direction week over week.
| Score | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| 90–100 | Excellent — minor polish only |
| 70–89 | Good — a few issues to address |
| 50–69 | Fair — meaningful gaps present |
| Below 50 | Needs attention — critical issues likely |
2. The issue list
All issues are listed with:
- Severity (critical / warning / info / pass)
- Check category (e.g. Page SEO, Core Web Vitals)
- Message — a plain-English description of the issue
- Detail — extra context explaining why it matters and how to fix it
- Affected pages — which URLs triggered this issue
3. Per-check breakdown
Click any check in the sidebar to see:
- That check's individual score
- Every issue it found, sorted by severity
- The raw data it analysed (headers, meta tags, etc.)
Prioritising fixes
Not all issues are equal. Use this mental model:
- Fix criticals first — they have the highest ranking impact and the most points available
- Tackle Core Web Vitals early — Google uses these as direct ranking signals
- Address schema issues — structured data significantly improves AI citability
- Fix accessibility warnings — improves both UX and WCAG compliance
- Review content issues — readability and word count affect both SEO and AI answers
Tracking improvement over time
Surfaceable stores a history of every audit. The History tab on your project shows a timeline of scores so you can see the impact of changes you make.
If a fix raised your score, great. If a deployment accidentally broke something, the score drop will surface immediately on the next audit.
Comparing audits
On paid plans you can compare two audits side-by-side. This shows:
- Issues that were resolved since the last audit
- New issues introduced since the last audit
- Score delta per check
